Agency Process
In order to meet the Australia and New Zealand market requirements of the Telecommunications, Radiocommunications and Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) regulatory frameworks, the product must comply with the applicable Labelling Notice(s) for Australia, the applicable Gazette Notices for New Zealand and Telepermit requirements for Telecommunications in New Zealand. Outlined below are the general steps for EMC compliance.
- Obtain a test report to the applicable EMC standard. (Note 1)
- Prepare descriptive documents of your product as tested to the applicable EMC standard. This includes model numbering, software and firmware revisions. Also strongly recommended are any additional identifying methods such as, but not limited to, clear colour images of the internal and external views and printed circuit board revision numbers.
- The test report and descriptive documents form the basis of the compliance folder, along with the Declaration of Conformity to be prepared by Braco Compliance.
- Braco Compliance provides a copy of the Agency Agreement to be signed and witnessed on behalf of the client company and a copy returned.
- On receipt of the above client documents and confirmation of compliance with electrical safety and any MEPS requirements (Note 2), Braco Compliance provides compliance marking artwork that combines the C-Tick logo with the Supplier Code Number (SCN).
- You are now able to supply your product to market. (Note 3)
Notes:
1) The test report shall be in English. The following ACMA link is a guide to which standard is applicable: EMC Standards List
2) Although determination of Electrical Safety compliance and MEPS compliance does not form part of the EMC regulatory framework C-Tick requirements, it is a due diligence requirement.
3) In accordance with the Agency Agreement, it is the client's obligation to inform Braco Compliance of details of any variants or modifications just as it is Braco Compliance's obligation to advise the client of any regulatory regime affecting issues. |
